About Our Organization
Egalite Transgenre is a non-profit organization promoting the rights and respect of trans people.
It was founded in June 2018 in Bukavu in a context marred by violence, discrimination, and disregard for the human rights of trans people in the cities of Bukavu and Uvira.
Vision
Invest further to build a world of rights, respect, and tolerance.
Our organization’s main objectives:
Promote the defense of trans rights throughout the Democratic Republic of Congo and Africa in general
Facilitate communication and raise awareness among trans people on issues related to HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, human rights, and sexual violence
Promote the well-being of trans people in Bukavu and Uvira
